When to Apply to Design Science
Design Science is a residential program and only admits students for the Fall term. We conduct a holistic review of applications on a rolling basis, and M.S. applicants will normally receive an admissions decision approximately 8 weeks after the posted deadline.
Design Science Ph.D. admission decisions are typically made between late February and mid March. Since doctoral students are required to be advised by two faculty in their respective specialization fields, the collaborative advisor selection process requires more time than a typical Ph.D. admissions process.
Students are encouraged to note each deadline below and ensure they have adequate time to prepare and submit a fully complete application. Please be aware that if an application is incomplete by the posted final deadline, the applicant must re-apply for a future term and pay the application fee again (application fees are non-refundable).
Note that International M.S. students are strongly encouraged to apply by the Early Decision deadline, as it generally requires extra time to collect the necessary documentation for visa paperwork after admissions and it may be difficult to meet deadlines otherwise.
